Introducing the Performers of "The Evening of Musical Rhapsody - Chapter I":
Biddut has been inspired by the cultural activities of his family, as well as his older brother's performances. As per Biddut - he is the father of the Bangladeshi theatrical rock! Biddut plays guitar, is a composes and singer. Music is not only his hobby, but also his passion.
Both of Faham's parents were patrons of literature and arts. Faham attended BAFA - Bangladesh Academy of Fine arts in Dhaka as a young person. And now, the Bangla culture magazine Bangla Groh keeps Faham inspired to participate in cultural and literary forums.
Morshed comes from a musically inclined family. Morshed learned to play instruments such as keyboard by himself while attending school. His family feels he is naturally talented! Morshed has been always passionate about music and enjoys listening with his wife and close friends.
Since childhood - Sagar became passionate about music, and as some says, passion never dies! Till this date - Sagar remains student of music and feels immensely grateful to the all mighty to have been blessed with this passion. Sagar jokingly also says - he has no regrets that he is not musically talented!!
Shaila always had huge passion for music and singing, however, never pursued it until she met Swapna Di a few years back. Shaila feels that she has a long way to go but she is enjoying every bit of this musical journey!
Since an early age - singing became a regular activity encouraged by parents and then followed by singing on Bangladesh TV on various occasions. Sharmin still sings for the love of music and unparalled enthusiasm of people and loves the support of her husband on this journey.
Sharup's sister is a dancer in BAFA - Bangladesh Academy of Fine arts, his mum was a singer in Chittagong Betar, Sharup's brother also sings. As one can tell, Sharup comes from a cultural family where he grew the love for music. Sharup sings, plays the keyboard, and always enjoys jamming with friends.
Shristy - originally trained in classical music, got the passion of music solely from her father. She reminiscences playing with harmonium before she could even speak! Over the time, this passion for music has grown to be a part of her soul. Shristy was trained by M A Mannan, Ferdous Ara and Ustad Basudeb Sen Gupta.
Swapna and Rahul -have been patrons of almost every form of Bangla culture in North America for many years.
Swapna learned poetry recitation from her father at a very early age, and then took vocal lessons from the legendary singer Suchitra Mitra. Beside music, Swapna also enjoys writing poetries and prose.
Rahul went to academy of fine arts in Kolkata while pursuing career in playing western classical violin, however, ended up becoming a scientist. Like his partner Shawpna - Rahul has been involved in various forms of art including vocal and instrumental music. Rahul is the awardee of Gyatri Gamarsh prize in creative writing in Bengali.
If you ask Utsha, he will joke and say - as a young person he was forced to learn music with his siblings, while his dad enjoyed listening! Over the years while studying and pursuing a career, music became a bit of an afterthought. However last few years, Utsha got back into the groove of practicing music again. He remains a student of music while enjoying the journey!
